Spectacular View Outside and a Casual Ambiance Inside
Two walls of very large windows allow diners to gaze at the breathtaking view of Cascumpec Bay and the harbour, home to one of the Island’s finest fishing fleets. This busy fishing port offers ever-changing scenes of fishers bringing in and unloading the day’s catch. Watch fishing vessels and sailboats as they enter the mouth of the harbour and dock at the wharf or in the Marina. Magnificent Great Blue Herons come close to shore by the hundreds at low tide. Photo opportunities abound and some guests have been known to get up from their table and go outside to get the perfect shot of anything from a double rainbow to a Giant Blue Fin tuna being landed on the wharf.
The restaurant is housed in an authentic boat-building shop. The building was renovated to convert it to a relaxing dining facility but retained its character and heritage look. Shipbuilding in the area can be traced back to 1790, when one of the first vessels built on PEI was crafted in Northport. Boat building remains a key industry in the community.
Our decor features aged wood, walls thick with memorabilia, 18-foot ceilings, a multi-level dining area and eclectic furnishings. Local antiques, flea market finds, plank floors and Maritime pieces create a unique atmosphere. Outdoor dining is available on our patio facing the harbour for those who savour fresh ocean air and the sounds of the sea.
