Rooney’s Funeral Home

Rooney Funeral Home was established in 1955 by a Mill River native E. Gerald Rooney. Mr. Rooney apprenticed at MacDougall and Brown Funeral Home in Toronto where he received his license. He and his wife Reta Griffin, who was also a licensed embalmer operated the funeral home and ambulance business until E. Gerald's sudden death in September 1983. Reta continued to operate the firm until 1987 when it was purchased by Davis Smith.
