Salary Range: $45000-48,750 (Annually)

Job Function
The Labour Market Resource will report respectively to the Executive Directors of Eastern or Western PEI Chambers of Commerce. They will carry out the duties specified by the Labour Market Development Project in implementing the main objectives and work together in collaboration.
The Labour Market Resource primary responsibly is to ensure that the project achieves its mission, as well as consistent and timely progress on its end goals. They will be responsible for providing timely planning and organization of the project, and direction to, the approved objectives of the Labour Market Development project. The Labour Market Resource will play a significant role in coordinating the planning of activities, assisting Executive Directors in meeting the project objectives, ensuring the optimal use of projects finances and/or resources, and overall communications.
Job Duties
• Implement main objectives of the Labour Market Development project. This will include coordinating the development of a Labour Market Needs Assessment Survey for existing small-medium size enterprises (SME’s)/not-for-profits to understand labour market challenges and gaps in skills and training. The needs assessment will identify re-training, upskilling, short-term training, the need for varying delivery models for training, efficiencies for cluster/group
training, sector training, specialized training, etc.
• Work with the business community to analyze skills and training needs; and determine most effective training models and delivery;
• Negotiate education institutions and private trainers to deliver training; and securing the necessary financing to implement training plans.
• Implement and maintain communication of the project designed to keep the membership and the public informed of Chamber activities, its project and goals. Establish work priorities and ensure procedures and budgets are followed and deadlines are met.
• Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with funding partners, community groups, SME’s, business leaders and the general public to help achieve the goals of both chamber organizations.
• Coordinate project services such as a monthly podcast available to both rural regions (Eastern & Western PEI).
• Assemble stats and survey (results) plus special reports related to the project
• Work as a professional team player with each rural Chamber of Commerce Executive Directors

Requirements
• Post-secondary graduation (or its equivalent in education and experience) and additional education or work experience is desirable, particularly in such disciplines as administration, management, marketing and public relations.
• Strong personal competencies of an effective Labour Market Resource such as inter-personal relationships, effective oral and written communications, critical judgment, commitment to the principles and objectives of the Labour Market Development Project is an asset.
• Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal and external challenges or obstacles.
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability in dealing with SME’s.
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
• Ability to communicate and organize and conduct presentations.
• Candidates must be able to work flex hours with notice, access to a vehicle as travel will be required.
